Undecided continued

8 YEARS EARLIER

Talia, Vera, and Kasey were freshmen at St. Mary's College Prep High School. They met on the first day of summer school when they had math class together. Talia clicked with them instantly because they were all having trouble with the math being taught by Mr. Jordan.

"This mess is for the birds man. I just can't seem to get this when we aren't in class" Talia said to them as they study during the lunch break.

"I know girl but we gon get this don't you worry." Kasey reassured her. Out of the three of them she was understanding the work the most so they always looked to her for help.

"Let's forget about this math and talk about what we are gonna wear on Monday for the first day of school?" Vera decided to throw in that thought because her mind was always on looking good. "You know that girl Jevan is always fresh so we gotta come correct on Monday.”

“Girl stop worrying about that and let’s get back to this work.”

They finished up the math and went their separate ways to travel home. As Talia walked down the hill she saw a group of boys standing by a stop sign. When she walked past then one in particular caught her eye. He was 6'1 with skin the color of a Hershey's Kiss. His hair was in neat locks that traveled half way down his back. Some might say he resembled Cain from Menace to Society but she just thought he was fine as hell. Talia was looking at his lips wanting to do things that her 14 year old mind shouldn't have even been thinking.

"Hey baby girl can I walk you home?" one of the boys yelled at her

"He must be a public school boy" Talia thought as she tried to step past another one of the boys. They all laughed as he continued to try and spit game at her. Everyone was amused. Everyone except Talia. She was disguested by the things he said. If this was all he had to say then she was gonna keep it moving. Which is just what she did.

Stepping past them and continuing to walk she felt a hand on her shoulder. Quickly she turned around and saw mister sexy himself.

"I'm sorry about them they don't know how to act around a pretty girl. I'm Kenyon what's your name?"

"I'm Talia and your friend needs some manners."

"Yea we're undergoing training for him right now" he chuckled  with her " But don't hold it against him he's a coo dude."

"If you say so....well it was nice meeting you Kenyon but I need to be gettin home." She turned to walk away.

"Wait"

"Yes"

"You think you might like some company on that walk home assuming its in the area?"

"Boy I do not know you well enough for you to be coming over."

"Come on ma I just wanna make sure you get home safe."

Talia let the idea roll through her head for a second before she said "What about if we walk to the park and we can sit and talk for a little bit before I actually go home?"

"Yea that sounds good to me. I'm out yall" He yelled to his friends and they walked together down the street talking and getting to know one another.
