HOW IT ALL BEGAN PART 5

Jumping in the Range Nikki decides to head over to the car wash since
it was such a beautiful day, a few clouds here and there but for the most
part it was cool and she was just wondering how she was going to be spending
the rest of her day, and her car was a bit rusty looking. Singing along to one of
her favorite songs by Lil Wayne Nikki steps out the car while waiting on the
not so long line at the car wash to put her books and a few items she had that
happened to be in an overnight bag in the back seat of her truck.

 
 
“Doin a buck in the latest drop

who it is didn’t think I’d be seeing you again since you stood me 
up last night says a mans voice from behind. Nikki closes the trunk 
of her trunk pauses and inhales because she knows that smell anywhere
 he has only been wearing it for the past 10 years she turns around and 
there is Lee from the night before standing in front of her smelling like a 
bottle of Versace Blue Jeans. “So I see you made it home safely, now do 
you care to explain why you didn’t call me back last night?” Admiring his 
5’11 frame and buff body she couldn’t help but notice how white and 
straight his teeth were looking these days and how beautiful and full his
 lips were in that split moment she noticed how beautiful the sky was 
and everything just seemed at ease like there was no wrong in the orld 
and she heard the birds chirping. Then she snapped out of it and realized 
it started to rain and that her hair was getting wet so they both jumped in
 her car to escape the rain. “Damn rain on this beautiful ass day who would 
have thought.” Said Nikki “Well I guess there’s no reason for you to get 
your car washed anymore now is there?” “Well I guess not so uhmm where’s 
your car?” “ I actually left it here to get detailed I’m going to pick it up
 tomorrow, it’s a good thing you showed up now I have a ride home, I was
 just going to cab it but I would much rather be driving with the women of 
my dreams.” Nicole couldn’t help but laugh because that statement couldn’t be 
any less false. Instead of coming back with a quirky response like she would 
normally do she decided to just go with it. Although she did have plans to see 
boo and go shopping she thought OH WHAT THE HELL! I’M NOT 
MARRIED NO KIDS AND I’M NOT OBLIGATED TO ANYBODY 
BUT MY DAMN SELF AND I HAVE TO PEE AND I KNOW HE 
CAN’T LIVE TOO FAR FROM HERE. “ So where do you live again?” 
“Oh not to far from here I’m right off the 
Manhattan Bridge.” “Manhattan Bridge?BROOKLYN YOU LIVE IN 
BROOKLYN NOW? I’M NOT DRIVING YOU TO BROOKLYN! 
You live in the projects don’t you? I should have known” “Look would 
you just stop it with this stuck up shit you’re taking me home and that’s that! 
You hungry?” “Look I don’t know who you think you’re talking to but I WILL
 NOT take that kind of disrespect in my own damn car now you can get the fuck
 out because I’m not driving all the way to Brooklyn I just came out here to get 
a damn car wash and this rain is not making anything better, a bad day to go 
with you’re your bad ass attitude.” Still rambling on to herself and squirming in 
her chair from having to pee she didn’t even realize that she was paying the toll 
going over the bridge going into Brooklyn because although at that moment she
 didn’t care to admit it but she wanted him more than ever and although she 
was whining like a child he couldn’t help but notice how sexy she looked, so 
natural but still beautiful with no make up a little Mac lip glass he made a mental 
note of what she had on last night she smelled like Versace Crystal Noir she 
wore her hair in a ponytail, cotton knit sweater, and rock and Republic jeans 
and a pair of hunter Green heels. He didn’t know what kind they were but he 
was sure they were some exclusive shits Prada probably to match her green 
purse. As long as he had known Nikki he had loved her but she had heart him
 in the worst way possible and he thought running into her last night was the 
greatest thing ever he thought he had a chance to start over and looking at her 
beauty just reminded him of the good times. It had been nearly six years since 
he had last saw her and he was going to make it right with her this time and put
 the past in the past. Six songs later she gives a blank “So where exactly do you
 live I can’t see anything through this rain?” He replies with an “Oh at the light 
make a left and pull into the parking lot you can park in my spot.” “You want 
me to park my car over here HELL NO!WHERE IN THE HELLDID YOU 
BRING ME I knew you lived in the damn projects what type of grimey shit is
 this I’m not going up in there you probably still live with your Ms.Gloria don’t
 you? I’m not getting shot I love my life where the hell are we? Wait hold on a
 minute we’re in BEDSTUY! ” For a moment she was speechless not believing 
that she just drove him all the way out to Brooklyn and now she’s stuck out 
there in the damn rain and fuming mad.” You know what Nicole I’m tired of 
trying to be nice to your fucking ass you are just so damn stuck up so you know 
what pull the fuck over and let me out I don’t need this shit you can just go on 
bout your business and get a fucking drink I’m sure that will bring you around
 to be nice to a motherfucker It’s a shame you gotta have some fucking drinks
 in you to be nice to a nigga.” He goes into his pocket and pulls out three $100
 bills and places them in her lap and says here that should get you back across 
the bridge and put some gas in your tank good lookin!” As Nikki pulls into the 
only vacant parking spot in the one level open parking lot mad as hell she looks
 at the buildings and thinks they don’t look half bad. They actually look really 
nice for this part of town! He jumps out of the truck key in hand and starts 
jogging towards his building. Nikki, now feeling a little bad about how she
 just blew up on him and looking out the window and seeing him trying to 
hover from the rain in his Paper Denim Cloth jeans and hoodie and 
Timberland boots that she had to call him back and apologize.
 Maybe she was being a little stuck up so she parked the car and 
called after him “Lee come here. It’s raining way too hard for you to
 be walking out there you’re going to catch a cold.” He stops dead in 
his tracks turns around and retorts “Since when do you have a fucking 
heart yo? You don’t give a fuck about anybody but yourself. I really 
thought you changed Nikki and all that I’m going to try to be sensitive
 so I can show him I’ve changed is for the birds you can keep it because
 I’m a man, I work hard for mine, I aint never have to fuck or suck nobody
 to get shit! You haven’t changed one bit you’re still that same old grimey 
bitch from the hood remember that!” With that he walked up to his door 
and rumbled through his keys looking for the right one. With that she went 
off and put the car in park jumped out keys in hand so that she could give
 that motherfucker a piece of her mind. She couldn’t believe that he tried to
 throw some shit in her face from so long ago. She had changed! She wasn’t 
the person that she used to be! She had moved out of the hood so long ago 
and not looked back I mean yeah growing up she had did her share of dirt but 
who hadn’t? Deep down she wanted to be mad but she knew Lee was giving
 her exactly what she deserved what she had been waiting for waiting for so long,
 but damn she had gotten over it why couldn’t he. She just knew after their little 
conversation last night she was going to make things right usually with a little 
bomb ass head or some tight ass pussy but Lee was different they had a 
connection that went deeper than looks and the material things; they actually
 had love for each other that was always covered up usually with insults or 
ended up in an argument. Running after him not even caring about her hair 
getting wet she knew she had to do something that she hated doing…apologize 
but in all actuality she would do anything for him, apologizing was the least of her 
worries it was the explaining that was going to be hard.“Lee wait” still holding looking 
for the right key he turns around and say “What Nicole, what the fuck do you have to
 say to me?”
