"hello mr. Ramirez., we were expecting you."

i was only slightly suprised.  i am finding out that Mr. Terry has a lot of juice.

"if you go to the front desk they will have the key to your apartment.."

"oh ok thank you very much."

"you can leave your vehicle here, it will be safe."

"ok."  i walk in and the there is ceiling to floor marble and statues and gold everywhere.  the place smelled of money.

"hello mr. ramirez."  "i have your keys here.  this key is for the mailbox, and this key it for your apartment, and this key is for the safe in your apartment.  you are on the 7th floor apt 702."  "if you need anything press 0 on the phone and you will get the 24 hour concierge."

"do i have to sign anything, or pay anything reaching into my pocket for my wallet. 

"no sir the rent is being taken cared of and the are no papers to sign."

"how much is the rent?"

"$5400 a month sir."

i almost choked on my own spit.  did this fools just say 5400 a month?  American dollars?"

i rushed up to see what the hell 5400 a month got you.  when i got there i unlocked the door. i swear i walked into another world. hardwood floors. state of the art kitchen with silver appliances.  a 70 inch sony bravia.  that tv was 20g's.  i could see the second level from down here. i walked past the soft leather sofas and took the stairs to the upper level. down the short hall was a bedroom, with a bed that looked like it could hold every single one of the dallas cowboys.  i rushed to the bathroom and almost tripped over my tongue.  there was a glass shower big enough for 5 linebackers.  weird thing was there were no shower heads.  where did the water come from.  i opened the glas door, and immediately water was falling like rain from the ceiling of the bathroom, and from holes in the wall.  it was off the chain. water was coming from every direction.  i had to admit this shit was tight.  but it was still unsettling. why would this man put me up in an apartment, give  me keys to his car, and a new job.  there has to be more to this.  this all cant be just for some side action.  he knew he was over analizing the situation.  but this can only go two ways...really good,  or really bad.  my momma god rest her soul, said never look a gift  horse in the mouth.  i agreed but this time this gift horse needed a thorough oral exam.  i'm gonna keep my gaurd and make i'm not thrown for any loops.

looking down at my watch it was already 11:15, and not wanting to keep  my boss waiting. i turned off the water and headed out.  i wanted to be right on time. i was gonna take the stairs but i did not want to be all sweaty.  when i got to the lobby i quickly headed for the truck.  it was sitting right where i left it.  had this been my neighborhood the wheels, doors, steering wheel, hell the whole car would have been gone.  i got in and headed for his office. there was alot of traffic, but i knew my way around the city pretty well so i knew what roads to take.  i got to the office at 11:40. a got out  and stood my the back passenger door ready to open it when he came through the glass doors.  i had seen this done many times in the movies so  i pretty much got the hang of it.  at 11:50 exactly he came walking through the doors.  he got to the car handed me his breifcase, not looking at me because he was on the phone.  i went around and put the case on the seat next to me and pulled off.  usually it would nothave taken long but for some reason there was traffic.  he spent the whole ride on the phone.  I was no really paying attention, but heard words i heard before, like merger, aquisition, and takeover.  he threw out some figures that made me realize this dud had money on top of money.  we cot to the restaurant with a few minutes to spare. i got  out and handed him his breifcase.

after about 35 min out came mr boss man.  he handed me his breifcase again and got in.

everything that he said rolled around in my head as we headed to the marina where he had one of his homes.  i pulled into the driveway,  behind a mercedes s550. the liscense plate said Mrs Terry, so i figured Gabby was already home.
