…that night Ray sat there fuming watching every move Jay and Marcus made until Savoy’s crew decided to leave the diner. Ray planned on ruining whatever is brewing between Jay and Marcus. If she couldn’t have her or be her friend – no one could. Ray half-heartily smiled when she glanced in Savoy's direction she saw anger in his eyes. She knew that attempting to pull anything now or ever in regards to Jay, would results in her untimely departure.
…Seven months later…the seasons have changed, but the player’s haven’t…
Several months had passed since Jay and Marcus became officially an item. Their relationship is growing stronger so they thought. It was taxing at first, because when they went out on a date or to just kick back and chill some chick would hit on once or the other, if not both. They earnestly laughed about it. After awhile, Marcus got fed up with Jay explaining, which she didn’t have to do, to women that she is with Marcus. Their reactions were priceless. Many of them caught attitudes and rolled their eyes at Marcus. Marcus, no longer found it funny, felt it should be obvious that they are a couple especially knowing that that Jay hasn’t been to any of her usual hang out spots in the city, such as, Bunns or the Five Seasons. She did a total 360 overnight. As far as Marcus could tell, Jay wasn’t creeping. She is being faithful and so is he. If she did decide to venture out, he would find out. Jay and Marcus have definite haters lurking and ready to “runtelldat” to the town as Martin used to say. Although, Marcus had to admit that the women hitting on Jay were extremely sexy. The few that hit on him could take a few lessons. Marcus had regrets and it was not having a threesome with Jay. She asked him before they become a couple, but he declined. He was surprised that she would offer; however, she said it was the reason behind how they met. He couldn’t handle her being back in her element. He didn’t want to encourage that part of her. He was being selfish and greedy at the same time. He had to remind himself how he met her in the first place.
…Meanwhile, their relationship is the talk of the hood; many females had their hearts broken when these two hooked up…the hater’s also surfaced. They were aiming for blood, and heartaches. Folks were saying Jay wasn’t really gay. She was a fake dyke that’s why she never settled down with anyone. Marcus on the other hand would tire of her soon. Several people were already claiming their breakup, which is hilarious to Jay and Marcus. There was so much more to Jay and Marcus relationship than sex and petty street rumors. They have individual dreams of getting out of the hood. On the low, Marcus is working on beats, only certain people in his crew were aware of this fact. He has sold two or three productions to Flaming Records over the last 12 months. No one really knows that music is his true passion, well except Jay. She is his main love. She witnessed his last negotiation with Flaming Record, his attorney, and theirs. She couldn’t believe the numbers being thrown across the table. She always believed the real money was made behind closed doors. Rappers made minor figures compared to the producers and song writers. Jay had aspirations as well. She wants to open own brothel in Las Vegas. She has a nice stash hidden away. She still has a few thousands to go before she will be satisfied. She doesn’t plan on sharing this information with anyone. It isn’t that she doesn’t trust Marcus, she just doesn’t want anyone interfering with her dream of being a grand madam with a stable of 50 or more women of all shapes, sizes, and races. She planned on catering to all lifestyles. Although she doesn’t play with women any longer, she still loves their form and what they offer sexually. She appreciates and adores a sexy woman.
…Walter’s side (work) hustle got blown up that night ray showed at the Wyndham trying to get at his cousin. He honestly didn’t mean to put Jay’s business on the block; however, that is not how it was taken by all the parties involved. Jay later told him, anything could have been happening that night, a drug deal – gone bad or good, a meeting – to merge crews, or sex – that Jay didn’t want anyone to know about, which is why she made the arrangements with him originally. He’s never babbled about her previous visits, at least not that she knows about. Now he didn’t know what was going on in Jay’s life. It was also a way to be kept in the loop. He is also an informant for Savoy’s rival, Se’ab. He doesn’t like Savoy. He feels that Savoy is too cocky and arrogant to be as ugly as he is. Walter knows Savoy is far from being ugly (no homo), but Savoy attitude makes him ugly sometimes. Savoy herbed Walter one day in front of his ex-girlfriend and he has never forgiven him for that. Jay told him on several occasions to let it go; she knew Savoy was playing with him yet Walter took it personally, which made the decision easy for him when he was approached many moons ago.
Walter was hanging in Fells Point drinking with Lyric, Jay’s best friend; Lyric didn’t get involved in family drama. She continued being friendly with Walker because she knew he was dirty. She believed in keeping your enemies close. Her cousin, Jamir ran with the “Disciples”. He has mentioned Walter’s name in passing one too many times. He shouldn’t know Walter, the college student from over Northeast Baltimore. He isn’t a thug by any means. She planned on putting him on notice, and then telling his cousin Jay what he has been up too. She had no other choice. He is jeopardizing their pockets and safety. Her loyalty was to Jay and Marcus. He grew on her after she hung with them a few times. Lyric suspected Jay was pregnant. She didn’t why beyond the fact that Jay’s breasts have been looking bigger or heavier, she couldn’t pinpoint. Jay wasn’t admitting to anything nor was Lyric really asking. Lyric had to ensure nothing occurred over the next few months or the bloodshed would be ridiculous. It would also bring attention to their quiet operation.
After two - three drinks Walter’s tongue was definitely loose, Lyric learned a lot that night about him, Jay, and her cousin’s crew. Supposedly, Walter has been sleeping with one of his college professors, in order, to keep his grades up. Jay may be a couple of months pregnant his mother dreamt about fish twice. Apparently, he heard it from his mother who happens to be Jay’s father’s sister. As far as Lyric knew, Jay hasn’t seen her father since he’s been locked up. She wondered how Walter’s mother came to this conclusion. He must have told her Jay is seeing Marcus. Lastly, Walter put it out there that Jamir is trying to leave the “Disciples” and branch out on his own. He has four or five dudes willing to dip with him. The leader of their current crew is rumored to be using his own supply to get high and claiming he is being shorted by his workers, in a weak attempt to cover his tracks. He is a wreck. Lyric couldn’t believe everything that she heard. It was too much, especially about her cousin and most of it will die with her. She wasn’t a repeater, you shouldn’t in this game.
Lyric notices Walter’s roaming eyes. He kept looking at her boobs. She wasn’t playing that shit with him just because Jay is on some satisfying her curiosity shit didn’t mean she is on it too – fuck that. After having one more drink, she told him she had to go and left at the bar alone. Having ass on the mind, she didn’t notice that Ray and some of her friends were there too, kicking back being rowdy as usual, toasting some recently received good news. Ray patiently watched Lyric give Walter dap, pay the tab, and then walked out the bar without looking back. Ray figured Lyric is slipping. Ray’s crew was awfully loud to be going unnoticed. Ray waited several minutes, ensuring that Lyric wasn’t returning or that Walter wasn’t leaving. She couldn’t afford to be seen fucking with Jay’s family. She had been warned by Savoy and Marcus. After 15 minutes had passed, Ray purposely walked over to where Walter was sitting. He was flirting with a chick two bar stools down from him. Ray rudely stood in between them, and directly in front of him. He mumbled, what the fuck, this made him slide back in his stool and rise up. He barely had his ass off the chair before Ray bashed him in the face with the “Ace of Spades” bottle that she was holding. As he went down, Ray started punching and swinging. He made no attempt to defend himself. Walter wasn’t a fighter so he curled up to avoid getting hit in the face again. All he did was pray that his face wasn’t scarred. Ray yelled fight back, bitch...fight back. He still made no moves to help himself. The chick he was flirting with was turned off by his weak nature. She eased away from the scene, not wanting to be involved. Meanwhile, no one stopped Ray from beating his ass, it seemed like it went on forever at least to him. Ray yelled out Nigga, get up. She kicked at him. She got tired of throwing blows, her arms were tired. She kicked at him even harder the second time. Finally, he manned up. He caught her foot before she was able to kick him a third time. It was the wrong move on his part one of her home boys hit him with a stool. Unluckily it was the one he was sitting on. Ray started laughing and pointing. She felt it was his fault that Jay cut her off and why they weren’t on speaking terms. She didn’t want to admit to her major role in Jay’s decision. Ray had been reckless for months. Anything involving Jay made her crazy. She didn’t want to verbalize her feelings, but Savoy did it for her. Ray knew her feelings shouldn’t exist, but they did.
After all the commotion ended, two bouncers arrived on the scene. One of the two lifted Walter up taking him outside and laid him on the curb a couple of doors down from the bar in front of a vacant store. While he handled the guy, the other bouncers told Ray and her friends that they have to leave the premises. Neither Ray nor the bouncers wanted the cops involved so she tossed the newly placed drink in her hand back and walked out laughing. They didn’t even pay their tab, which almost totaled two grand not including the damage she made. The bouncers didn’t go after her. He knew his boss would handle the situation. The owner sat quietly in his office and watched the entire show on his flat screen on his office wall. He recorded it. He knew this would come in handy soon. None of his friends knows that he recently brought this spot. He got it for a steal. He couldn’t pass on the price. It’s under his deceased father’s name. He was able to do this without a hassle due in part to his attorney. He is worth every penny paid to him. His office handled all of Jamir’s situations, criminal, civil, etc. He only dealt with the best. He suspected that Ray whipped on Jay’s cousin like that because she couldn’t touch Jay without repercussions. Everyone knew Jay could handle her own, though it didn’t hurt having major weight behind you, such as Savoy and Lightening. She is blessed with serious guardian angels.
The bouncer returned from outside. He walked to his boss’s office asking him how he wanted to handle this situation. The guy on the curb may have some problems remembering everything that transpired; however, the gay girl that came in here with him earlier will remember where she left him. She left him drunk and alone, but there wasn’t anything physically wrong with him. He continued you can look at him and tell he not the type of person to start a bar brawl. The bouncer had checked Walter out a little bit and he had a broken nose and several cuts across his cheek and forehead. He also has blood drooling from his mouth. They could clean up the bar that wasn’t a problem. The problem is the blood on the curb, someone from one of the other bars could end up calling the police to report the incident hence bringing unwanted attention to his spot. Jamir (Jah) didn’t want any scenes or flashing lights at his establishment so he told his bouncer to drive Walter to the nearest hospital. He didn’t have to stay, Jamir never let on that the gay girl having drinks with Walter was his cousin, Lyric. He wondered what they had talked about. He knew Lyric ran with Jay, who ran with Savoy. He also knew Jay is currently in a relationship with Lightening. The streets were too small, he thought aloud. In this business, the less people knew about you, the safer you were. Jamir’s customers just watched. They sat there with drinks in the hands watching Walter get his ass beat and not one person stepped up to help him. Jamir loved it. He could deal with a bar filled with motherfuckers that minded their own fucking business. He removed the tape and placed it in his safe. He wondered how he could use this information to his advantage. He didn’t plan on telling Lyric that he was present at the bar or that he owned it.
After going several months of not being sexually satisfied by a man, Pinkey learns why Marcus hasn’t been returning her calls or text messages. It’s been at least six months since she’s seen him last. Actually, she believes it might be longer than that. She sighs depressingly. Pinkey heard the rumors, but didn’t want to believe them. Blindly and unintentionally, she had hooked them up. She is curious about their connection, most importantly, she is jealous. She had Marcus first. She wanted Marcus for herself. He was her dick in a bottle or play-sum buddy. She was furious that he didn’t have the decency to call her and explain. She knew that was Lightening treatments. In the back of her mind, she still wants that threesome with her, Marcus, and Jay. She knew it would never happen now. They were faithful to one another from what she has been hearing.
Pinkey thought about various manipulative ways to plot their breakup. She really couldn’t believe these two literally hooked up after leaving her house that night. It had to be that night. They never crossed paths before. When Marcus left her apartment, he was on fire and complaining. He also came close to yanking her ass for wasting his time. He told her he could’ve been somewhere else. Pinkey should have suspected or known something was up because Marcus and Jay spoke to one another in the parking lot. She was peeking out of her window. She saw Jay glance up at her window so she backed away. By the time she returned, Jay and Marcus had driven off. She just didn’t know it was together. She is delusional believing if she would have been totally honestly with Jay about her intentions, they could all be together.
Never one to wait for too long, Pinkey is on the creep looking for a dick replacement. She knows what she likes in a man. She has to stop comparing motherfuckers to Marcus soon or she will be remaining dick-less. She started hanging out at Club International hoping to snag a big dick thug whom wouldn’t mind the fact that she is bisexual.
On the other side of town, it is truly a blessing. Jay and Marcus are ecstatic that they’re expecting their first child together. At first, Jay didn’t realize what was going on with her body so she called her Aunt Pat to ask some questions. Her aunt told her, she had dreamt about fish twice a couple of weeks ago. She told Jay – never in a thousand years did she think it would be you. Jay wasn’t totally offended. She was surprised that her period didn’t stop a month after her and Marcus started fucking. He loved having sex on the regular, and he cums in her each and every time. She somewhat figured he was trying to get her pregnant. They shared their feelings about family, kids, etc and what sex the other wanted. Jay wants a boy, while Marcus wants a girl. He told her he hopes she ended up with twins. He informed her that twins do run in family. Jay wasn’t feeling that idea at all. She went to Planned Parenthood in Towson. She didn’t want anyone seeing her just yet. The doctor at Planned Parenthood confirmed everyone’s suspicions. He referred her to a gyn / ob linked to Mercy hospital on Calvert Street.
She called the number she was given and the referrals secretary made an appointment for three days later. She was shocked that they were able to get her in so quickly. During the visit, Jay learned that she was almost four months pregnant. She and Marcus only thought she was about two months pregnant since she only missed her period once. Her period is irregular; however, due the regularity of their sexual intercourse it started coming every other month like clockwork. When she left the doctor’s office, she called her aunt to confirm her dreams. The most important call was to Marcus. She had to tell him everything the doctor said. There were several positives, and a couple of negatives. The doctor gave her a prescription for her vitamins, and low dosage high blood pressure pill that won’t hurt the baby. Jay, also, knew she had to call Lyric. She would call her when she gets home. Jay was driving, minding her own business when someone with a cast on flagged her down on Loch Raven blvd. She couldn’t stop due to the flow of traffic. She drove up another block or two and then made a u-turn. By the time, she got back to where the person was they had walked up another block. She couldn’t immediately tell if it was a male or a female. She drove in the right lane, hitting her hazard lights as she slowed down. She pulled up next to the person and blew her horn. Her horn startled him. When the person turned to see who is blowing, it was Walter. He had on a hat which almost prevented her from seeing his face. She rolled her window to get a better look and that’s when she noticed his eye patch as well as bruising across his cheek. Jay hit her door lock and waved for him to get in. She couldn’t believe what she is seeing. He looked deflated, his confidence reduced a notch. He looked abused. She hadn’t spoken to him since that night at the hotel, now she regretted her decision.
She sat there taking him all in. She felt her blood pressure rising. The doctor told her to she had to keep it under control, if she wants to make it her full term or the alternative is bed rest. When his nurse checked it earlier, her pressure read 140 / 90. She hugged Walter. He hugged her back tightly with his one good arm. He missed her. They released each other. Hay was overly emotional. She had tears in her eyes. She had to look away. A car pulled in behind, and the driver had the audacity to blow his or her horn. Jay now in the pregnancy boat was forced to grin and bear it, any other time she would have gotten out of her car and went the hell off. Walter observed her behavior, saying nothing. His mother had told him her thoughts weeks ago. Jay pulls slowly into traffic. She turns her head to Walter asking him what the hell happened to you and don’t say nothing. Walter responded “you happened”. Jay said what I have to do with this unflattering look of yours. He told her about hanging with Lyric, and then the run in with Ray and her punk ass friends. Jay became infuriated. Walter tries to calm her down. Jay tells him a whispered tone don’t worry about it she’ll handle it at her earliest convenience. Walter knew what that meant for Ray. All he could say was okay; he wasn’t in a position to run up on Ray even with his unknown ties to the Disciples. He felt this situation was going to get worse before it resolved itself, someone may even end up dead. He hoped it wouldn’t be him.
