Antonio paused long enough to say grace, before jumping into his plate of food. Vernon watched him for a few minutes before he began consuming his meal. He noticed Antonio kept tugging at his shirt pulling it down at his wrist. He had already noticed the bruises. He planned on saying something once they finished eating. He didn’t want to ruin brunch; it was going great so far. Both gentleman ate, and spoke until nothing was left on their plates. Antonio apologized for being such a pig. Vernon said no need to say anything…I’m just as guilty. My plate is beyond empty. The waitress came by asking if they needed anything, Vernon ordered coffee and another glass of orange juice while Antonio ordered green tea.
