A Pool of Lies

By. Amber Heard

I struggle to stay alive
Everyday because my heart won’t let me die
I struggle to stay dry
Because my eyes won’t let me cry.

I’ve reached so far to touch the meaning of life
But all I grab is lies
And when I am separated from the truth
It’s hard to find the ties
But because I am lost in darkness
Lost in the pain
Of life
fighting to stay afloat
Above this pool of lies

My heart becomes filled with deceit
My heart just slowly dies
But I still struggle to stay dry
Because my pride won’t let my eyes cry

Still, slowly
But surely
I sink to my demise.
